Meet Irina Lopes, a visionary artist and sustainable fashion trailblazer, whose creative journey has transformed the ordinary into extraordinary. From the enchanting city of St. Petersburg to the vibrant landscapes of Madeira, Irina's artistic prowess knows no bounds.
With an educational background in architecture and economics, Irina found her artistic haven on the island of Madeira in 2012. Painting became her true love, and her artistic toolkit boasts an array of mediums—watercolours, oils, acrylics, papier-mâché, batik, and ceramics.
The magic truly began when Irina, faced with the task of setting up her new home, turned to recycling and upcycling. Old furniture found new life under her skilled hands, creating a uniquely adorned space where each piece tells a story of renewal and creativity.
But Irina's creativity doesn't stop at furniture. Fabric painting, particularly the ancient art of batik, became a transformative force. It opened up a realm where old saroy clothes were reborn, and new, one-of-a-kind pieces emerged.
Today, we are thrilled to unveil Irina's latest masterpiece—a denim dress that marries skill, eco-friendliness, and a dash of irreverence. This creation marks the inaugural piece for our Sustainable Fashion Show, set to dazzle in Madeira come October 2024.
