Training for Trainers in Madeira, Portugal
10–16 January 2027
ARTE.M is opening applications for Creative Maps — The Arts Are Hiring, an Erasmus+ training course for people who work with young people through art, culture and non-formal education.
The training will take place in Funchal, Madeira, and will bring together youth workers, educators, facilitators, artists and cultural professionals from different European countries.
The central question of the programme is practical: how can we help young people understand the cultural and creative sectors as a real field of work?

Over five training days, participants will look at creative careers, motivation, employability, future skills and inclusive facilitation. The programme will combine group work, discussion, practical exercises and workshop development.
What will happen during the training?
Participants will explore how creative methods can be used to develop communication, teamwork, confidence and other skills relevant to young people’s professional lives.
Working in international teams, each participant will develop a workshop that can later be used in their own organisation or community.
By the end of the training, participants will have:
a ready-to-use workshop lasting 60–90 minutes;
a simple lesson plan;
practical facilitation tools;
experience testing ideas with an international group;
new professional contacts across Europe;
a Youthpass Certificate.
Who is the training for?
The call is open to:
youth workers;
creative educators and trainers;
facilitators working in cultural or community settings;
artists and cultural managers involved in youth work;
professionals interested in creative careers, employability and future skills.
Applicants should already have some experience working with young people and be ready to participate actively in all parts of the programme.
The working language is English.

Follow-up after Madeira
The training does not end with the mobility.
Within two months after returning home, each participant will organise a local workshop using the methods developed during the programme. The activity should be delivered to a youth group or local community.
Participants will also send ARTE.M a short report, photographs and basic information about the workshop.
