Today (8th of February 2022) our association is pleased to announce a new call for young participants from Madeira island.

Be Social! is a youth exchange aiming to create awareness about social enterprises and support young people in order to appreciate the role of social entrepreneurship.

It will create a learning space for personal development of the participants, focusing on improving their skills and competences needed to get a job or establish their own social enterprise or business. This project is also aiming on empowering young people in turning their innovative ideas into action.

Youth unemployment in EU (15-24 years old) has been in general on the rise since 2008. Based on Eurostat 2019, Greece is still the country with the highest youth unemployment rate, 40,4%. Spain, Italy and Croatia are the EU countries with the second (31,7%), third (30,5%) and forth (20,6%) highest youth unemployment rate. Portugal has the 6th highest youth unemployment rate in the EU (18,7%). Based on the same statistics, only 6 EU countries (out of 28) have a youth unemployment rate less than 10%. It is undeniable that the EU should focus and work on the reduction of these high unemployment rates.

Our project will create a learning space for personal development of the participants, focusing on improving their skills and competences needed to get a job or establish their own social enterprise or business. This project is also aiming on empowering young people in turning their innovative ideas into action.

Great news!!!!! Our partner will organize a bus from Athens Airport to the training venue and back, costing 50 euros for both tickets. Now your adventure will be much easier !!!

But, in case you are ready for a slightly more complicated option and the opportunity to feel like a real Greek, and not just a tourist ... you can make your way to the meeting point on your own !!!!! We give you tips ....

  1. From Athens' Airport The easiest way to arrive to Municipality of Agrafa and Granitsa village is arriving at Athens' airport, the largest airport of the country

  2. By Bus from Athens to Karpenisi .Then you should take a bus to Karpenisi. The bus station is called “Ktel Liossion”. Be careful, there are two bus stations in Athens! If you are planning to return to Athens, it is cheaper to buy a return ticket.

  • To get from Athens airport to the bus station, you can get the local bus X93 from the airport and get off at the station “Ktel Liossion”. Bus ticket from airport to bus station costs 6.00€

3. By bus from Karpenisi to Granitsa As soon as you arrive to Karpenisi (the largest city close to Granitsa), you should take a second bus to Granitsa from the same bus station. Have a great trip !
